Capt. Saurabh Varshney

Work Experience: More than 15 years of Sailing Experience. Sailed on Merchant Ships from (1985 to 2001). Sailed on General Cargo, Bulk Carriers, Timber Carriers, Multi-Purpose Ships, Oil and Chemical Tanker.
Teaching experience of more than 14 years.

His association with IMI started in 2001, since then he has been teaching in various competency courses Pre sea, Modular, and Simulator based courses.

Capt. Pramod Kumar Singh

B.Sc, Master (FG) (1999),F.I.C.S (UK ), Lead Auditor ISM/ISPS/MLC.

Work Experience: 15 Years Sailing experience, sailed on Merchant Ships from (1990 to 2005). Sailed on General Cargo, Bulk Carriers, Timber Carriers, Multi Purpose Ships, Oil and Chemical Tanker. PCTC (Pure Car and Truck Carrier), Wood Chip Carrier.14 years experience with ship management as DPA/CSO and Head of Marine Operations for Japanese owners with a Fleet of 45 Ships.Teaching experience of 1year with IMI

Capt. J S Kalra

Ex Indian Navy (1977 to 2000), Master (FG) (1997)

Designation: Senior Training Superintendent. Association with IMI: Since 2011

Work Experience: More than 15 years of Sailing Experience. Sailed on Indian navy ships from 1977 to 1993 and merchant ships from 2010 to 2014. Sailed on Bulk Carriers, Dredgers, and tugs. Teaching experience of more than 7 years of which four years in the Indian navy and three years in merchant navy (IMI and FOSMA). Teaching pre-sea subjects Navigation, Bridge equipment, Chart works, Meteorology, and also post sea courses ROC, ARPA, RANCHO, and SSO.

CAPT. VIKAS AGARWAL

Sailed on Merchant Ships from (1977 to 1999), Sailed on General Cargo, Bulk Carriers, Multi Purpose Ships, Crude, Product Oil and Chemical Tanker, Container ship. Teaching experience of more than 20 years. His association with IMI started in 1999, since then he has been teaching in various competency courses Pre Sea, Modular and Simulator-based courses.

Capt Umang Mathur

IMI ( From Apr 1996 – July 1996 )Master ( FG ) 2014

Designation: Training Superintendent. Association with IMI: Since Feb 2020

Work Experience: More than 23 years of sailing experience sailed on merchant ships from 1997 to 2019. Sailed mainly on FSO’s, Crude oil tankers, and product tankers of various sizes from handy size to Suezmax with extensive experience on tankers involved in STS operation in US Gulf. Have experience in carrying out practical Pilotage duties in Singapore waters for six months along with PSA Marine. Teaching Experience of more than a year. His association with IMI started in 2020 since then he has been teaching in various competency courses along with Short STCW modular courses at present.

Capt Prawal Pratap Singh Bais

Designation: Training Superintendent. Association with IMI: Since 2021

Work Experience: Sailed on Bulk carriers, Tankers product, chemical and crude oil on various ranks from cadet to Master. Sailed as Master on Product and chemical tankers with IMC tankers. Has also worked as vessel planning manager in CSAV container company. Has worked as chartering manager In Maricon services. Has also worked as Nautical faculty in post sea and pre-sea training institute since 2007.

Capt. Faisal Iqbal

Master (FG) 2007

Designation: Training Superintendent. Association with IMI: Since 2021

Work Experience: More than 25years of sailing experience, sailed all throughout on tankers, especially on chemical tankers. Started Sailing in the year 1994 till July 2021.

Chief Engineer Rajesh Trivedi

Designation:  Vice Principal, Association with IMI: Since 2015

Work Experience: More than 20 years of Sailing Experience. Sailed on Merchant Ships from (1989 to 1999) and (2005-1015), Sailed on General Cargo, Bulk Carriers, Timber Carriers, Multi-Purpose Ships, Oil and Chemical Tanker. Teaching experience of more than 4 years. His association with training started in 2003 at ARI. He has been teaching in various competency courses Pre Sea, Modular and Simulator-based courses.

Chief Engineer Arvind Kumar Agarwal

DMET (1984-88), MOT Class 1(M) (1995)

Designation: Head of Department, Engineering. Association with IMI: Since 2016

Work Experience: 14 years of sailing experience with Great Eastern Shipping Co and with Anglo-Eastern Ship Management Hong Kong, sailed on petroleum tankers, dry bulk carriers, and container vessels.

5 years experience as technical superintendent worked with Pacific Marine and Executive Ship Management Singapore and senior technical superintendent managing tankers.

Worked 7 years as Purchase Manager with MSC Ship Management Hong Kong Limited managing the technical supply for around 100 ships in the management. Chief Engineer Arvind Kumar Agarwal DMET (1984-88), MOT Class 1(M) (1995). One and half year teaching experience at IMI Greater Noida.

Chief Engineer Atul Kumar Gupta

B.E. (Mechanical) from MANIT Bhopal (1975 – 1980), Marine Engineering from DMET Bombay (1982-1983), MOT Class 1(M) (1988)

Designation: Senior Training Superintendent, Course Coordinator GME, Management Representative. Association with IMI: Since 2007

Work Experience: Worked in the private sector (Engineering Industry) for two years 1980 – 1982 Sailed for 23 years on Merchant Ships from 1983 to 2006 of which last 13 years were in the rank of Chief Engineer. Worked on General Cargo, Bulk Carriers, and mainly Oil Tankers.
Teaching experience of more than 14 years. Teaching at IMI in Pre Sea Engineering Courses and mandatory STCW courses.

Chief Engineer Shyam Sunder

DMET (1984-1989), MOT Class 1(M) (1995)

Designation: Training Superintendant. Association with IMI: Since 2021

Work Experience: 29 years of sailing experience on Tankers, Reefer vessels, Bulk carriers, Container ships, General purpose vessels, and car carriers of which 19 years as a Chief Engineer. He has worked with SCI, Univan, AESM, and last ten years with Maersk Line. He has also worked with ARI for 2 years. Long experience of working on most modern vessels with electronic engines.

Chief Engineer Raghavan Ramanujam

Class 1 Motor UK 1992, Graduated from DMET Calcutta in 1984

Designation: Training Superintendant. Association with IMI: Since 2019

Work Experience: Eighteen years at sea with last Five years as Chief Engineer in various Indian and Foreign Shipping Companies. Came ashore in 2003 as Fleet Personnel Superintendent for a Singapore based company, worked as a Technical Superintendent in Hong Kong. Left Ship Management in 2007, worked as a Domain Expert for a well-known e-learning company as a Domain expert, then moved on to Simulator design, testing and training. Since 2014, involved in competency and value-added training. A Fellow of the Institute of Marine Engineers, former Member of Governing Council of Engineering Council of India, and member, Governing Council of Institute of Marine Engineers India.

Chief Engineer Sushant Singh

IIT Roorkee (2006-2010) MEO Class 1 (MMD Mumbai)

Designation: Consultant Training Superintendent. Association with IMI: Since 2022.

Work Experience: Having sailing experience on a variety of Bulk Carriers ranging from Valemax to Handysize Ocean Going Vessels. Vast experience on electronic and intelligent engines i.e RT-Flex by Wartsila and ME-C, ME-B engines by Man B&W. Onboard experience in retrofits of Ballast Water Treatment Plants and Scrubber Plants onboard. Expertise in working with Electronics Controlled Alfa Laval Fuel Conditioning plants and Wartsila’s Electronically governed Auxpac Units.

Chief Engineer Uday Bhandoola

Designation: Training Superintendent. Association with IMI since Jan 2022

Work Experience: Class I Chief Engineers Certificate of Competency for unlimited motor vessels from the Govt of United Kingdom and Ireland in 2008.

Total of 25 years at sea on ocean going merchant vessels.  (11 years as Chief Engineer). Extensive experience on petroleum oil tankers varying from VLCC to product tankers of the LR1 and MR type. Teaching ‘Internal Combustion Engines’ and ‘Marine Auxiliary Machinery’ for B-Tech and GME students at the pre-sea level. Competency course- Conducting EKM classes for MEO II. Also involved in various post sea STCW courses such as FPFF, BTOCTCO, VICT etc.

Er. Ashok K. Singhal

M.B.A. (HR and Marketing), B.E.(E)

Designation: Marine Electrical Superintendent. Association with IMI :  Since 2018.

Work Experience: Did his 4 Years of Engineering (1980-1984) from Electrical Electronics Engineering College in Indian Navy. He Served the country for 19 Years. Joined Shipping Industry in 1999. Worked with various shipping companies like Bernhard Schulte, Anglo Eastern, Wilhelmsen Ship Management. Left sailing in 2017. Joined International Maritime Institute in 2018.

Dayanand Giri

Marine Engineer Officer, MOT-IV, 1997 MMD Mumbai

Designation: Work shop-in-charge

Work Experience: He has served 38+ years at sea, which in Indian navy(17.5 years), has undergone Mechanical Engineer training at INS-SHIVAJI, Lonavala, Maharastra. Worked as engine room in charge having two units of 15,000 kW each of Gas turbines as well as associated to marine gas turbine overhauling Centre, Visakhapatnam for 3 years to carry out capital repairs of Gas turbines. He has served 22 years in Merchant navy onboard different types of ships eg. Off shore supply vessels, dry cargo ships and container ships including continuous 14 years with Anglo Eastern management company. Joined our steemed organisation with effect from 23rd July 2015 onwards to till to date as a teaching faculty.

Dr. Jogendra Kumar

Designation: Professor. Association with IMI; Since 2017

Work Experience: He has 16 years of teaching experience in the academic field. He has vast knowledge in Applied Mathematics. His area of interest is Operation Research. Three national papers are published in the national Seminar. He has been teaching in various competency courses like B.Tech, DNS, etc.

Er. Ankush Sharma

Designation: Assistant Professor. Association with IMI: Since 2015

Work Experience: More than 7 years of working experience in the field of teaching. He has a keen interest in teaching, dynamic with an excellent academic track record and excellent command over the subject. As far as his education is concerned he did his graduation from U.P.Technical University and post that completed M.Tech program from Graphic Era University. His area of interest is Control System and Electronics. One international Paper is published in online journal and two national papers are published in seminar held in RTU, Alwar. He has been teaching in various competency courses like B.Tech, GME and DNS, etc.

Er. Anuj Verma

Work Experience: More than 5 years of Teaching Experience and 1 year Industry Experience. He has attended faculty development program in Deferent institute. He has attended workshop organized by IIT Khargpur, IIT Bombay based on Analog and Digital Circuits and Akash He published two papers in International Journal of Advanced Information and Communication Technology. He has been teaching in various competency courses B.Tech. , GME and DNS. He is expertise in organizing seminars and training sessions. He is committed to meaningful and experimental technology based learning. His belief in education being the tool to shape the future remains a priority for his life.

Er. Neeraj Kumar Sharma

Also he attended a seminar of three days of human values and professional ethics. Strength: Applied thermodynamics, Refrigeration and air conditioning, Engineering mechanics, Fluid mechanics.
