Passing-Out Ceremony of ETO‑17 and GME‑42 Batches  
*Held on 15 November 2025 at International Maritime Institute, Greater Noida*
The International Maritime Institute, Greater Noida, conducted the Passing-Out Ceremony of its Electro-Technical Officer (ETO‑17) and Graduate Marine Engineering (GME‑42) batches, marking the graduation of 35 cadets. The event was graced by Mr Tushar Sharma, Deputy General Manager, Fleet Management Ltd. {tag}, who attended as the Chief Guest.
The ceremony commenced with a series of cultural performances presented by cadets, showcasing their talent and camaraderie. The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm and pride as the graduating cadets prepared to embark on their professional maritime careers.
Following the performances, awards for academic excellence and special achievements were presented to recognise outstanding cadets for their dedication and exemplary performance during training.
Capt Saurabh Varshney, Head of the Institute, IMI, addressed the gathering and congratulated all graduating cadets on successfully completing their courses. In his address, he reminded them that their classroom learning would now be tested in real-life situations at sea. He emphasised the importance of safety, continuous learning, and professional discipline, advising cadets to remain vigilant and uphold the highest standards of conduct. Capt Varshney concluded with a message of encouragement, highlighting that the shipping industry was flourishing with new opportunities and that the cadets had chosen the right profession at the right time.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Mr Tushar Sharma advised the cadets to maintain strong mental resilience, constructive thinking, and accountable decision-making. He encouraged them to make their alma mater, parents, and the nation proud through responsible actions and integrity at sea, reminding them to “go safe on ship and come back safe.”
