IMI Alumni Meet 2023

International maritime Institute is a premier maritime institute for engineering and nautical science in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. It was established in 1991 and has completed 30 years since then and is considered one of the best maritime institutes in India with its own Ship in Campus(SIC).IMI justifiably takes pride in its excellent reputation for quality training.

ALUMNI MEET 2023, IMI’s Grand alumni meet, was held on 21st January 2023 in Greater Noida.  Close to 100 ex-cadets had graduated from the institute in different time zones in the last 30 years, and currently are working in the maritime industry. Some of them who passed out before 2000 are (Captain Sunny Williams, Captain Aditya Singh Jamwal, Captain Sameer Valecha, Captain Prem Prakash, Captain Sachin Sikka, Captain Dilip Narsian, Captain Ankur Agarwal, Captain Vinod Kumar Dhaiya, Captain Rohit Priyadarshi, Chief Engineer Amit Mohan Sharma, Chief Engineer Navneet Chaudhary).

Captain Virendra Yadav is currently working as Deputy general manager in MMS Maritime in Delhi Office and Captain Mukesh Kumar is heading the Country Manning office of MSI shipping services in India. 

Special mention for the alumni currently working long with IMI are Captain Umang Mathur, Chief Engineer Amit Shekhar, Chief Officer Shreesh Shukla and Mr. Intekhab Ahmad converged at the 2D campus. Joining with cadets, faculty, and staff, they spent several hours together in a charged atmosphere. All had so many things to share and reminisce, as also several thoughts and ideas on their journey to a successful life in the maritime industry.

All the alumni and their families received a warm welcome with Dhol, Teeka , Flowers, and snacks and celebrated their success at IMI. Later, ex-cadets interacted with current cadets of IMI. Alumni with their families indulged in indoor and outdoor games. There was a walkaround organized for the alumni to visit all the campuses of IMI(13 Knowledge Park 1,2D Knowledge Park 3  and the new and upcoming Sunpeda campus) delighted them.

After lunch, a Cultural program was performed by the cadets in that event cadets showcased their talent in various activities like dance and singing. Alumni were welcomed on the stage to share their “IMI yaadein”/memories, one of the highlights of the event was the keynote address by successful alumni and his journey after graduation and how the institute had helped shape their career. 

In the evening, faculty, staff, alumni, and family enjoyed DJ night and Bonfire. Later on, all the attendees had a scrumptious dinner prepared by the in-house cooks/chefs.

• Overall, the alumni meet was a huge success, with alumni from all over the world coming together to celebrate and share experiences and connect with one another. The institute is now looking forward to the next alumni meet and the chance to bring together alumni from all over the world once again.
