“A Symphony of Success: A Journey of Achievements – DNS (Diploma in Nautical Science) 38 Cadets’ Graduation Ceremony”
On 19th December 2023, the International Maritime Institute (IMI) hosted a spectacular Graduation Ceremony of our talented and resilient Marine DNS (Diploma in Nautical Science) cadets of 38th batch.
The ceremony witnessed the distinguished presence of Chief Guest Captain Rajkumar from Fleet Ship Management, along with Captain Varshney, the Head of Institute, International Maritime Institute (IMI), Chief Engineer Arvind Aggrawal (Head of Department – Engineering), Captain Kalra and Captain Prawal Bias. Proud parents, esteemed teachers, and mentors who played a pivotal role in imparting knowledge and skills also graced the occasion, sharing in the pride of witnessing their mentees evolve into competent professionals.
The ceremony began with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony, symbolizing the pursuit of knowledge and enlightenment. The guests graced the stage to light the lamp, invoking the blessings of Maa Saraswati.
Following the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, attention shifted to the prize distribution for those who had displayed remarkable dedication and proficiency. The honours were conferred by Captain Rajkumar from Fleet Ship Management and Captain Varshney, the Head of Institute (International Maritime Institute), acknowledging and rewarding the achievers.
Cadet Abhinav Sharma and Cadet Rohit Barde were honoured with the Best Navigator award by MSC Ship Management Company. The Fleet Ship Management Achievers award was bestowed upon Cadet Ayush Singh Chauhan and Cadet Yash Dahiya. In the realm of International Maritime Institute (IMI) achievements, both Cadet Ayush Singh Chauhan and Cadet Abhinav Sharma received recognition. Cadet Sarthak Gupta was presented with the Discipline award, while Cadet Om Avasthi earned the Officer-Like Quality award.
The Chief Guest, Captain Rajkumar (Fleet Ship Management) luminary in the maritime industry, brought a wealth of experience and insights that rippled through the ceremony. Their address was a compass guiding the newly graduated cadets towards success in the vast sea of maritime opportunities.
Captain Saurabh Varshney, the esteemed Head of the Institute (HOI) at International Maritime Institute (IMI), took a moment to acknowledge the dedication and resilience of the cadets. Their journey from novices to competent professionals was a testament to the rigorous training and guidance provided by the institute. In the spirit of the Passing Out Ceremony at International Maritime Institute (IMI), the guidance of the Chief Guest and HOI Sir charted a course for the cadets, setting them on a trajectory towards success in their maritime careers. The words of wisdom imparted on this day would serve as a compass, steering them through the challenges and triumphs that awaited in their professional voyage.
The ceremony unfolded with a vibrant cultural program featuring students showcasing their singing and dance talents. As students recounted their experiences during the course and shared anecdotes about hostel life, it became evident that IMI had evolved beyond being a mere educational institution. It transformed into a community wholeheartedly dedicated to nurturing the growth and success of its students.
As the event concluded, Captain Kalra stepped onto the stage to extend his gratitude. He conveyed appreciation to the dignitaries, participants, faculty members, and staff whose collective efforts played a crucial role in ensuring the success of the Passing Out Ceremony.
