On May 13, 2024, the International Maritime Institute (IMI) organized an impressive Graduation Ceremony honoring the accomplished and resilient cadets of the 39th batch of Graduate Marine Engineers (GME). The ceremony marked a significant celebration of their dedication, hard work and outstanding achievements.

IMI (International Maritime Institute) was fortunate to welcome one of its esteemed alumni, Mr. Amit Singh, as the chief guest for this event. Mr. Singh, an alumnus of IMI who completed his GME (Graduate Marine Engineer) course in 2001 and currently serves with the Government of Singapore.

Along with our chief guest, the ceremony was graced by presence of Captain Varshney, the Head of Institute, International Maritime Institute (IMI), Chief Engineer Arvind Aggrawal (Head of Department – Engineering), Chief Engineer Rajesh Dwivedi (Vice President, esteemed teachers and mentors who played a pivotal role in imparting knowledge and skills also graced the occasion.

The ceremony commenced with a traditional lamp lighting, symbolizing the quest for knowledge and enlightenment. Honoured guests took the stage to light the lamp, seeking the blessings of Maa Saraswati.

Captain Saurabh Varshney, Head of the Institute (HOI) at International Maritime Institute (IMI), took a moment to introduce chief guest and acknowledge the dedication and resilience of the cadets. He spoke on the importance of discipline, time management and the long career ahead for the GME (Graduate Marine Engineer) cadets.

Our chief guest, Mr. Amit Singh, delivered an inspiring speech emphasizing the importance of teamwork and safety on board. His address resonated with the cadets, encouraging them to maintain positivity and focus in their careers and lives. He clearly conveyed that maintaining discipline and mental health is crucial for success.

The ceremony included an award presentation recognizing outstanding academic performances, exemplary sportsmanship and the prestigious Best Shipmate Award. Books authored by Mr. Atul Gupta Sir were awarded to the achievers, adding a touch of academic honor to their accolades.

A memento as a token of appreciation was given to the esteemed guest, Mr. Amit Singh, by our Head of Institution, Captain Saurabh Varshney, representing IMI.

The graduation ceremony was graced with dance and singing performances by the B.Tech(Marine) and GME (Graduate Marine Engineer) cadets.

The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by IMI’s Chief Engineer Vice President, Rajesh Dwivedi Sir, expressing gratitude to all attendees and contributors.

The GME Batch 39 Graduation Ceremony was a memorable event, marking the beginning of a promising journey for our graduates. As they step into their careers, we wish them a bright future filled with success and fulfilment.
