Fleet Management Team Visits IMI Campus

A 16-member delegation from Fleet Management, led by Capt. Deepak Correa, COO, Fleet Management India Operations, recently visited the International Maritime Institute (IMI) campuses and training facilities.

The Fleet team, predominantly composing representatives from the Indian headquarters of Mumbai, toured the three campuses and institute’s core areas, including the simulators, workshops, and laboratories, which provide the essential hands-on experience vital for the successful careers of future seafarers.

The visit included focused meetings with IMI’s leadership, faculty, and staff. These discussions underscored the strong partnership between the two entities, concentrating on enhancing training quality, aligning academic programmes with industry, and exploring new avenues for growth and collaboration.

Capt. Correa said, “We appreciate IMI for their commitment to consistent, excellent training. This ongoing partnership is vital, as it directly ensures our cadets are equipped to confidently meet global maritime industry demands.”

Echoing the sentiment, Capt. Saurabh Varshney, the Head of Institute at IMI, added, “Connecting Fleet Management’s team with IMI is crucial. It reaffirms our unified commitment to nurturing highly competent maritime professionals who are fully prepared for today’s industry landscape.”

This engagement highlights the continuous, collaborative effort between IMI and Fleet Management in providing thorough and practical maritime education and optimizing career opportunities for the next generation of seafarers.

In March 2025, the International Maritime Institute (IMI) joined The Caravel Group, the parent company of Fleet Management Limited. This integration expanded the number of placements for graduating cadets at Fleet Management and strengthening training offerings for present and future talent. More than 190 cadets have commenced their sailing career with Fleet Management this year.
