Graduate Marine Engineering (GME)

Book Online

The Graduate Marine Engineering (GME) programme is a DG Shipping-approved course designed for engineering graduates who are looking to transition into the Merchant Navy. It provides a focused pathway by applying existing technical knowledge to the specialised environment of shipboard engineering.

The programme covers marine propulsion, thermodynamics, auxiliary machinery, maintenance systems, and engineering operations. Training is structured to bridge conventional engineering disciplines with the practical demands of working onboard vessels.

With a strong emphasis on applied learning and technical competence, the GME course prepares graduates for roles within the engine department of merchant ships. The structured pathway supports progression from junior engineering roles to senior technical positions over time.

Given the increasing need for skilled marine engineers across international shipping fleets, the GME programme remains a highly relevant and career-oriented option for engineering graduates.
